The World Water Day 2009 theme on sharing water, sharing opportunities (transboundary water) triggered an online discussion on this site. Interestingly, 20 of the 22 comments were submitted by people from the developing world. Half of those were from India, Nepal, Bangladesh and Pakistan.
At the end of March 127 World Water Day 2009 events had been posted from 27 countries on this site. With 21 events India was the highest scoring developing country.
