Water Literacy Foundation Hubli is organising a WALK FOR WATER on 20th March 2008, with active support from Ashoka-Deshpande Foundation in co-ordination with various govt.departments, schools and colleges. Water Literacy Foundation has approached more than 400 First Grade Colleges in North Karnataka region in India. Each college has a strenth of more than 1000 students. Each college is supplied with sufficient information about hosting several events on the eve of World Water Day with a request to observe the WWD on 20th march 2008 simulteneously with the mega event to be held at Dharwar ( Starts and Ends at Kalabhavan ). More than 300 institutions have planned to observe WWD. So, more than 3 lakh persons will be directly engaged in WWD Celebrations and pass on the message to more than 3 million people directly or indirectly.
'Bhageerath' a telefilm on water conservation produced by WATER LITERACY FOUNDATION Hubli would be screened at Kalabhavan Dharwad for general public and students.Shri Ayyappa Masagi Director and Bhalachandr Jabashetti Program Officer could be contacted for further details.
