Cilincing World Water Day Celebrations
Yayasan Emmanuel Water Program
Jakarta, Indonesia, 30 Mar 08
The location for our celebration is Cilincing, one of the poorest communities in Jakarta, with very poor access to clean drinking water. The event will highlight the need for improved access to clean drinking water for poor people in Jakarta. It will also educate the local community on affordable ways to improve their drinking water quality with displays staffed by local community members. The event will also include educational displays to help the community better manage the massive amount of solid waste, and will display work from our hygiene education classes for children. Clowns without Borders has helped train children from the community to perform circus acts with a message. The highlight of the event will be a celebration of the new YEWP-built community rainwater tank.
