Offer Dambovita a Picture

Apa Nova Bucuresti, a Veolia Company
Bucharest, Romania, 21 Mar 08

On the occasion of World Water Day 2008, Apa Nova, a Veolia company, asks people in Bucharest to respect Dambovita, a river crossing the city. Under the umbrella message “Offer Dambovita a picture”, 300 students and local artists will gather in the center of Bucharest to start painting an 800m long canvas along the riverside of Dambovita.

300 people - students, pupils from art schools, company employees and well known artists - are gathered by Apa Nova along the riverside of Dambovita and are provided with all necessary supplies as to start painting, drawing, do graffiti or simply leave written messages for the only river in Bucharest. You cannot cross the city without seeing Dambovita, but few think about it and even fewer know its history. Apa Nova decided that it’s time to give this river the honor it deserves. The 800m painted canvas will be on display all day long on the riverside to remind citizens that the river deserves all their respect and protection.
