Monthly IYS E-bulletin launched

In order to disseminate information on the International Year of Sanitation 2008 related activities in Nepal to all stakeholders and coordinate efforts the sector has launched a new monthly e-bulletin “Sarsafai” on World Water Day 2008. More than 40 organizations in Nepal have joined hands to make (IYS) 2008 a great success. An IYS 2008 Desk has been established at the Department of Water Supply and Sewerage (DWSS) to coordinate activities among all these groups. We are committed to raise the profile of and investment in sanitation, scale up innovative technologies and practices, and significantly expand sanitation coverage throughout the country. For this a series of activities are being organized throughout the year. Nepal’s slogan for IYS-2008 is “Our Solidarity towards the Commitments for Total Sanitation”

We encourage you to make this bulletin your platform to share experiences and learn from one another. We don’t want this to be just a one way street, with information flowing from us to you. We want your inputs, comments and suggestions and we want this e-bulletin to help us talk to one another and inspire us to act on sanitation. Let’s make this our vehicle for taking us all to our destination of improved sanitation for all. Let’s work together so that at the end of 2008, we can all say “We did it!!!”
