World Water Day - WaterAid Australia Charity Launch @ Hobart Water
Hobart Water
Hobart, Tasmania, Australia, Australia, 22 Mar 05
As part of WaterAid Australia’s Operation 15 program, which takes its name from the fact that a child dies every fifteen seconds, Hobart Water will celebrate World Day for Water on 22 March 2005 by officially launching WaterAid as its primary charity at a breakfast for staff. Entry will be by gold coin donation and proceeds will go to WaterAid Australia.
While the recent tsunami was one of the world’s worst ever disasters and the response by the Australian community has been fantastic, it is important not to forget that 168,000 children are dying every month because they don’t have access to the basics of clean water or sanitation.
WaterAid Australia is the only aid agency dedicated to the provision of safe water, effective sanitation and hygiene education and Hobart Water is a Foundation Member of WaterAid Australia. WaterAid Australia currently operates projects in Papua New Guinea, Vietnam, Nepal and India.
