World Water Day 2009

The importance of water has been known to Tamil community from time immemorial. Poet and Saint Valluvar talked about the importance of water in his "Thirukkural' and has given second chapter as{"Van Sirappu"}.
But I am sure that the prime source of pure water is rainfall. The vagaries of monsoon in space and time plays a crucial role in determining the refreshable resource.
In globe 97% of earth is covered by ocean(water) and fresh water accounts for less than 1%. The renewable resource is mainly at the mercy of rain Gods.
There has been no technological application in weather. Further weather is not fully understood especially at tropical level. Science and Technology must develop to control weather.or
Science should explore methods to convert the abundance ocean water into fresh water or at least potable water in a more economically and technically viable manner.
Water is renewable resource. But will this be like this for ever. I do not think so. One day, though not in near future , the mechanism of rainfall will change. No rain or no fresh water.
However, at least take effort to conserve water to day it self.
