Sharing Water

Jane Kaye-Bailey, comment on Discussion on transboundary water theme

Having just spent three weeks with my charity, The Butterfly Tree in Zambia, the highlight of the trip was providing four bore holes and hand pumps to remote villages. The sheer joy and pleasure it gave me to see safe drinking water replacing polluted and crocodile infested river water cannot be described. These rural villages often get neglected and the people deserve to have help when they have so many hardships to endure.

The projects will enable the schools and communities to have better health and hygiene, grow vegetables and become more sustainable, sharing opportunities amongst those most in need - fresh, clean water taken for granted in the west is like a 'pot of gold' to someone in a developing country.
