Gramalaya World Water Day

Gramalaya is organising World Water Day 2005 on March 22 at Gramalaya Training Centre, Kolakkudipatti, Tamil Nadu, India. About 20,000 women will participate in the event and share their experiences and success stories relating to water and sanitation. The programme is being supported by Water Partners International, USA and WaterAid, UK. Major expenditures for this event is contributed by the WAVE - a federation of women self-help groups. This event will be one of the largest congregations of women from 300 villages in three blocks in Tiruchirappalli District of Tamil Nadu. At the end of the conference, resolutions will be passed on the issues relating to water and its conservation.
