Perry Ridge Water Users World Water Day Celebration Table

Perry Ridge Water Users Association
Nelson, Canada, 20 Mar 10

An information table will be set up at the local Kootenay Country Coop on Baker Street in Nelson from 11:00 to 3:00. Fundraising for a sensitive, threatened watershed and the 30 years the citizens have been vigilant about protecting both agricultural and domestic use water that provides food for fisheries in the Columbia River, a cross border river in both Canada and United States emptying into the Pacific Ocean. There will be posters and DVD's for sale along with climate change information. Please come by and support this local watershed and the world wide movement to protect water. Our Association agrees with Maude Barlow's statement " The destruction of aquatic ecosystem health, and the increasing water scarcity are in my opinion the most pressing environmental problems facing human kind." Protection of our collective watershed reserve in the Slocan Valley British Columbia will help stop this destruction.
