World Water Day Advocacy Seminar - 2005

Water and Environmental Sanitation Network (WESNet) is a local Government (LGE&RDD) and UNICEF Peshawar initiative. The organization is mandated to working for the improvement of safe drinking water and basic access to sanitation through enhanced Stakeholders’ consultations for coordination, advocacy, knowledge management and policy refinement in the light of the Millennium Development Goals.

Since its inception, WESNet has had the honor of organizing World Water Day event from 2002 to 2004. In order to continue with the tradition, WESNet this year has organized the WWD seminar with the support of Local Government and Rural Development Department (LGE&RDD) NWFP, UNICEF Peshawar, ICMS Peshawar, Environmental Sciences Department-University of Peshawar, Manufacturers of Askari Mineral Water Askari Pharmaceuticals, KSB Pumps, Engro Asahi Polymer & Chemicals Ltd, Royal PVC Pipes (Pvt) Ltd & Prime Star Industries (Pvt) Ltd on 22nd March 2005 as an opportunity to bring together all relevant stakeholders such as Media (Print, Electronic) Private sector (trade and industry), government officials, elected representatives, Projects, CSOs, donor agencies and academia. The Chief Minister NWFP Mr. Akram Khan Durrani has kindly acknowledged gracing the event this year.
