The Great Drain Game

Auckland Regional Council
Auckland, New Zealand, 21 Mar 06

http://www.arc.govt.nz

The Great Drain Game is a hands-on stormwater education activity that has helped more than 65,000 primary school children in the Auckland region to learn about water pollution and how they can prevent it.

The ARC is launching a new design on Tuesday 21 March, which is not only bigger, brighter and better, but also more mobile making it easier to move around to primary schools in the region.

Another feature is that Ministry of Education approved providers - ‘Kids for Drama’ deliver the game as a full theatrical and educational show in the formal classroom setting. The ARC provides schools with a teacher’s pack to support student learning and understanding of pollution related issues.

The Great Drain Game is provided free of charge and co-sponsored by Auckland’s largest bulk water and wastewater service provider Watercare Services Limited.
