High School for Environmental Studies World Water Week
High School for Environmental Studies
New York, United States, 20 Mar 06
The High School for Environmental Studies is honoring World Water Day by extending the celebration into a week of events and lessons. During the week of March 20th, teachers in all subject areas will be leading lessons that demonstrate the interdisciplinary and historical significance of water, as well as, the importance of water conservation. From Science, English and History to Ceramics and Music, HSES will immerse its students in the culture of water. In addition, HSES will be hosting several water events including, a Career Day focused on jobs related to water, a debate and lecture by Columbia University graduate students on the science behind the movie "The Day After Tomorrow" and a mock trial with ConEdison on a modern water issue. Outside of class, HSES students will be participating in water taste testing and games to reinforce water conservation.
