Walk for Water in Philadelphia

In many communities around the world, women and children must walk up to 6 miles a day to retrieve clean water for their families. The Walk for Water on World Water Day 2006 is a symbolic act of solidarity and an effort to educate the public about the World Water Crisis. We hope you’ll join us. Event details are below.

PHILADELPHIA

Location: LOVE Park

Where to meet: JFK Plaza, between 15th and 16th, Arch and JFK

Walk Route: We will head down the Ben Franklin Parkway, go up the Philly Art Museum steps in true “Rocky” style, head over the Spring Garden Street Bridge, walk through Penn and Drexel area, and arrive at the World Café Live where we will have a boxed lunch and here world music

Walk time: 11:30 meet and greet at LOVE Park, 12pm Walk Begins.

Walk distance: 2.5 miles
