Walk for Water in San Francisco

In many communities around the world, women and children must walk up to 6 miles a day to retrieve clean water for their families. The Walk for Water on World Water Day 2006 is a symbolic act of solidarity and an effort to educate the public about the World Water Crisis. We hope you’ll join us. Event details are below.

SAN FRANCISCO

Location: Starbucks San Francisco Regional Office, 455 North Point, San Francisco, CA 94133

Where to meet: we will gather on the plaza at the ground level of the building

Walk Route: Our path starts at Fisherman’s Wharf, takes us through part of the Golden Gate National Recreation area at Fort Mason and down the Marina Green overlooking the San Francisco Bay and Golden Gate Bridge.

Walk time: Wednesday March 22 - 10am

Walk distance: Approximately 3 miles (based on a street route), the walk takes us along park paths and the exact distance has not been measured.
