Title: RIVERS IN SPRING 1

On March 22, 2006, more than 3500 children, students and citizen will take part in RIVERS IN SPRING 1 held in Mantova town, one of three events in Mantova Province, Northern Italy: people will gather on the Mantova Lake, which is an enlargement of Mincio River, to carry on scientific, naturalistic and artistic activities, or make foot, bike, boat excursions or action to defend the environment. The aware consumption of the natural resources, the Water World-wide Contract and the relation between water and energy are some topics of the event. In this context special importance is given to Hydrogen, as a possible product derived from water, used as an energy carrier for mobility and residence applications: an exhibition about Zero Regio, a project co-financed by European Commission, oriented to the development of infrastructures and mobility demonstration based on Hydrogen, a fuel cell scooter and a fuel cell power generator, both fed with Hydrogen, will attract the attention of visitors. Information materials about good practices will be given to schools and citizens in order to save water and energy.

The event has been held according to the methodologies of Local Agenda 21
within the project "Un PO di cultura", which is linked to other international projects: GLOBE, GREEN Europe, Elbe River project.
