World Water Day 2007 - Integrated Water Resources Management for Koshi River Basin

WECS, GON and WWF Nepal are jointly organising a one-day seminar on the occassion of the Water Day 2007.

This event will address the broader theme of Water Day “Coping with Water Scarcity” and focus more on necessity of Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) in developing, managing, and conserving water and related resources within the river basins. The event will emphasize on the Koshi River Basin Management (KRBM) as the first initiative of Nepal in this direction.

Following activities are envision to celebrate the Water Day 2007:
- Publishing the poster and promotional materials of the KRBM
- Distribution of KRBM workshop (January 3, 2007) proceedings
- Organise workshop by calling papers from the institutions working in Koshi River Basin, whose activities could be related to the KRBM initiative.
- Demonstrative models depicting their activities could also be called from the the organisations in keep them as stalls.
