“Race for Water” is an annual iconic fund-raising event in Hong Kong organized by a local charity A Drop of Life (ADOL), which has been working tirelessly to ensure access to clean water for people in need over the past years.
In Race for Water, participants are required to carry 4.5 litres of bottled water to run through the arduous trail, imitating villagers fetching water from water sources to home and hence experience the hardship.
With this event, ADOL would like to raise HKD 3 million for building water supply or purifying facilities in developing countries like Cambodia, China, and Nepal to help bring clean and safe water to local villagers. ADOL also takes this opportunity to raise public awareness on water scarcity and encourage the public to save water by changing their water consumption habits.
