Bottled Water Consumption Soars As State of Rivers Declines, WWF press release on World Water Day

WWF is working on fresh water around the world, on wetlands such as the Pantanal and on river basins in all five continents. On World Water Day, we will highlight some of the threats facing these rivers including the urgency of implementing sustainable options for meeting needs for water, food and energy. These all link to human health as well as the health of ecosystems on which we depend.

World Water Day will be a spotlight on WWF's site www.panda.org, featuring facts, figures and pictures of some of the world's rivers.
