The WHO Water and Sanitation Programme for the European Region has set up a WWD website to promote its Protocol on Water and Health: http://www.who.it/news_and_events.htm#wwd01
Among other activities, the WHO Water and Sanitation Programme for the European Region is coordinating jointly with the UNECE the implementation of the Protocol on Water and Health. The Protocol, an international legal instrument on the prevention, control and reduction of water-related diseases in Europe, which has already been signed by 36 European countries, will become legally binding once 16 countries ratify it. A Web brochure is available on this site to stress the importance of advancing further steps with the ratification of this Protocol.
