WWD 2001 Event
Cambodia - Lutheran World Service
Every year the Lutheran World Service (LWS) Cambodia programme celebrates WWD in both national and village levels. At the national level LWS cooperates with Ministry of Rural Development to conduct a meeting and exhibition of water activities in Cambodia. During that day all water agencies and governmental institution come to meet in an open meeting under the honour of the Deputy Vice Prime Minister. The exhibition also take place where the meeting is carrying.
At village level LWS Cambodia has prepared a WWD event with the beneficiaries by conducting hand pump well competition. The Water Point Evaluation Committee will evaluate the water and health situation of the water points that have been constructed in the project areas. Then an evaluation committee will analyze the result.
The water point that will be win the contest will get small award from the LWS such as equipment for growing vegetables and a T-shirt.
During the award-giving summary we also introduce them about the WWD concept.
