Brews, Boats and Bands for Better River – A benefit for Georgia River Network in celebration of World Water Day
World Water Day* is taking place on Sunday, March 22nd and the Georgia River Network will be holding our annual fundraiser, Brews, Boats and Bands for Better Rivers to celebrate this and we’d like to invite you to be a part of it.
Connecting people to their watersheds and rivers through recreation is one way to increase awareness and stewardship for this precious liquid resource that we all need.
Georgia River Network (GRN) is a statewide organization that connects people to our water-ways to increase stewardship by improving access to outdoor recreation. We’re known for our Paddle Georgia events in particular.
GRN is stepping up to promote World Water Day and roll out our newest initiative, the Georgia River App. This will complement our ongoing and increasingly successful Blue Water Trails program. We envision taking the river app tool and water trail program throughout Georgia through partnerships with the Georgia Department of Economic Development and local tourism agencies. Tourism is a $66 billion industry in Georgia and our rivers represent a much underutilized economic opportunity for many communities throughout the state.
