Grant County, NM World Water Day
On March 22, 2019, join us in celebrating World Water Day at the Bayard Public Library hosted by Silver City Watershed Keepers in conjunction with the Gila Resources Information Project. Attendees will be able to watch films pertinent to local water issues while eating free food. Additionally, we will be hosting kid friendly water games and water quality demonstrations. In the interest of staying true to this years World Water Day theme ‘No One Left Behind’, special focus will be directed towards Grant County’s mining district, the residents of which are often overlooked when it comes to local water matters. The following day, March 23, will be dedicated to community action. Silver City Watershed Keepers will lead a trash pickup in Silver City’s big ditch as well as collect data concerning the health of San Vicente Creek.
