Integrated Water Management Training
We have been organizing World Water Day events in Ankara University Water Management Institute (ENSTITUSU) since 2015 focusing on the topic decided by UN. This year, we are co-organizing a panel on “A Human Right: Access to Clean Water” with Ankara University Center of Research and Application on Human Rights (IHUAM). After a short opening ceremony with a piano recital by pianist Dilan Dereli, opening speeches by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Goksen Capar (Director, ENSTITUSU), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Abdurrahman Saygılı (Director, IHUAM) and Prof. Dr. Ayhan Elmali (Vice Rector) will be done. The panel will be moderated by Prof. Dr. Mehmet Celik (Engineering Faculty, Ankara University). The panelists are Prof. Dr. Nesrin Algan (Faculty of Political Science, Ankara University) with a speech entitled “Environmental Migrations”, Melike Kus (Nature Protection Agency) with a speech entitled “Impact of Massive Migrations on Water Resources”, Assist. Prof. Dr. Hamdi Gokce Zabunoglu (Faculty of Law, Ankara University) with a speech entitled “Immigrants’ Right to Access Clean Water within the Context of Right to Health” and Dr. Ayhan Kocbay with a speech entitled “Water Supply Projects of Turkey for Syrian Immigrants”. In the afternoon the participants will visit Lake Eymir to have a walk and take pictures under the supervision of photographer Baris Koca.
