Tree Growing Activity and @ Sitio Tinefulan, Brgy. Maligo, South Cotabato, Philippines.
As a water utility that serves safe and potable water in our community, General Santos City Water District is very active in taking action to protect our environment in every means that it can do. One of the important events that we are celebrating annually is the World Water Day Celebration. For this year’s celebrations, General Santos City Water District will not just plant but will grow trees together with our partners in the Local Government Unit ( LGU), Academe, Non- Government Organizations (NGOs) and other private partners. This one-day activity aims to promote environment rehabilitation and protection not only to our partners but also to the community residing in the area. Water source protection is also one of the aims of every activity that we are conducting for the sustainability of clean and potable water to the Generals that we are serving. Simultaneously, part also of the celebration is the cleanup drive of the river and giving information to the community on how to properly dispose their garbage.
