World Water Day Prayers
We are hosting a World Water Day event at Las Milpitas Community Farm next Friday, March 22. Prayers will be led by Mona Polacca, one of the 13 Indigenous Grandmothers and internally known spiritual leader who has participated in past World Water Day prayers. Also in attendance will be Stanley Perry, an Eagledancer, Storyteller,  and carrier of Haskell’s Wetlands Staff, as well as, Dr. Patrisia Gonzales, author of Red Medicine: Traditional Indigenous Rites of Birthing and Healing and tenured faculty at the University of Arizona. We are inviting people from the Tohono O’odham and Pasqua Yaqui nations, as well as local groups such as the Indigenous Alliance Without Borders and Tucson Audubon Society. Our blessing will be followed by a potluck-style brunch. Those who can are encouraged to bring a dish. Otherwise food and water will be provided. Please feel free to email me for more information. Thank you!
