World Water Day – Wai Ora – Bay of Plenty Regional Council
The WorkWell Group of the Bay of Plenty Regional Council are inviting staff to a lunchtime session in conjunction with World Water Day on Friday 22 March, 2019. We know how important water is, and although it seems like we have an abundance of valuable resource available at the turn of a tap, this isn’t the case for many countries around the world. In conjunction with World Water Day, we will hear of some of the projects that are occurring in our organisation by Staff. The Water Policy team will be sharing a presentation with staff to give an overview of some of the key reasons why water is a big deal in our area. Briefly touched on the RMA, NPSFM and then talking through where things are at with the lower Kaituna (Policy perspective). It is an opportunity to pat one of our pivotal Water teams who contribute to the greater betterment of Fresh Water. With this is mind, BOPRC WorkWell group have taken up the tohu of this initiative to assist in any way possible to provide water to just one school in Papua New to obtain water post disaster. It is our hope that we can raise some funds to donate to OXFAM. On World Water day, we will have available a Koha box solely to contribute to this cause, every cent will be greatly appreciated.
