WWD Roadwalk and Market Sensitization
Hope Spring Water Charity Foundation, in partnership with Sustainable Africa Waste Initiative (SAWI) and Media for Community Change (MFCC), will be marking the 2019 World Water Day by embarking on a Roadwalk/Market sensitization to amplify the voice of marginalized groups in a quest for inclusive development in the WASH sector. The government of Nigeria recently signed the disability bill into law. Therefore, the sensitization walk would serve as a call to action for the government, to lead by example in “non-discrimination of marginalized groups” by including and considering their needs in planning and implementation of Water projects. The event will bring together several stakeholders, including; government agencies, PWD, children, elders and CSOs, who would be lending their voice to the cause. The road show will kick off from Berger Roundabout to Wuse market, Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, where the sensitization activities will take place.
