Groundwater and climate change are inseparable

Groundwater  and climate  change  must  be considered  in  the  same legal context, according to a policy brief from the International Water Resources Association.
 
With the vast majority of the world’s freshwater lying underground, the possible impacts of climate change on groundwater exacerbate the threat to future groundwater supply and management. Groundwater must receive greater protection and be integrated into climate change adaptation strategies.
