A new satellite imagery platform is building a better understanding of how water bodies are changing.
The Water-Related Ecosystems platform, launched by the partnership of UN Environment, Google and the European Commission, aims to create a global data set on the state of water resources that is comparable between countries and over time. The platform will be a key tool for governments as they fulfil their obligations to achieve Sustainable Development Goal 6.6: to protect and restore water-related ecosystems.
